artist statement
My art represents an internal landscape,
it has no physical reality,
no form or definition
until it becomes visible to me on paper.
Images appear,
and as I work with them, adding line, color, or form,
they begin to take shape and become "real".
Often words or stories run in my mind simultaneously
as the drawing
develops.
It is a fluid process as forms
may appear, change, sometimes
disappear, or reappear
again in another area of the drawing.
It is an intense,
intimate process of opening and letting go to
"see"
what is there.
It is a process of self discovery and a
timeless adventure.
